Abstract:
This paper explores the integration of Ideological and Political (I&P) education into college English listening and speaking instruction, responding to the national initiative for "curriculum-based ideological and political education." Moving beyond superficial content addition, it proposes a value-led pedagogical model that subtly embeds cultural confidence, ethical reasoning, and global citizenship into language skill activities. Grounded in theories of constructivism and content-based instruction, the study outlines practical strategies including the curation of authentic audiovisual materials, the design of theme-based discussions and role-plays, and the implementation of project-based learning. A detailed teaching case demonstrates this organic integration. The paper concludes that a well-designed approach achieves a synergistic effect, enhancing both communicative competence and students' cultural literacy, thereby fulfilling the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education.
